Application Procedure

Are you applying to the Ukrainian schemes for a UK Visa? Start your visa application online at GOV.UK. Follow the steps to create a UK Visas and Immigration account. If someone is going to help you to apply, you can easily give them access to your account by adding their email and phone number.

  • Sign in to your account with the passport number, date of birth, and the security code sent to your phone or email.
  • Connect with the UK Immigration and ID check app to prove your identity.
  • Open the application and enter the connection code.
  • In the app, take a picture of the photo page of your passport.
  • Ensure that all the personal details are visible.
  • If your passport has a biometric chip, you should also scan it.
  • Now, place the phone on the front cover of the passport, with the top of the phone in the centre.
  • Next, scan your face, and hold the camera in front of your face.
  • Children under 10 will not be asked to scan their faces.
  • It would help if you did not have anything covering your face and eyes, and there must not be shadows or objects in the background.
  • Check and submit your application.
  • Now, sign back to your account online at gov.uk to continue with your application. Finish all the sections of the application and submit your application.
  • Continue to the evidence upload section. You will be told what to upload if you need to upload the evidence.
  • You must select ‘’confirm and upload’’, even if you are not submitting the evidence.
  • Wait for a decision email to tell you what to do next.
  • Once you decide, you can use your online account to view and prove your immigration status.

Extend Your Stay In The UK

You don’t need to apply for an extension if you have used the ‘’UK Immigration: ID Check’’ application. You must also give your biometrics within 6 months of arrival if your passport has a stamp. Now, you could live in the UK for more than 3 years. There is no need to hurry for an extension. You have to apply before the 6 months ends.

The Ukrainian Displaced Persons Travel Scheme allows Ukrainians to travel free in trains across England, Scotland and Wales. These people can get the ticket within 48 hours of their arrival. They should have a Ukrainian passport or a boarding pass. They can also travel in the UK using TfL's London Underground and Docklands Light Railway (DLR).

Apart from this, Eurostar also offers free tickets to let Ukrainians travel from Eurostar station in Ukraine to London. Individuals with valid visas can show their visas and passports to any member of the Eurostar team. It will help him/her to get a ticket to travel to London.

Final Words

UK Visa support for nationals of Ukraine is highly appreciated. Ukrainians who need to enter the UK urgently should apply for a visa in the usual way and include compelling reasons to explain their visit. So, when you apply for a visitor visa, make sure you give the reasons why you are visiting and explain the military conflict and imminent danger that your family is in.

The UK government stands shoulder to shoulder with the Ukrainian people in this alarming situation. The UK has decided to grant visas to Ukrainian people to work and study in the UK for up to three years. According to the latest statistics, 58,900 Ukrainians have applied through the Family visa scheme, and 142,400 have applied through Ukraine Sponsorship Visa Scheme. This figure has proved that people are interested in getting a chance to work and study in the UK.
