Founded as a satellite campus in 1878, the University of Montreal (UdeM) was given the status of an independent institution in 1920.
UdeM offers Bachelor's, Masters, and Doctoral programs for students worldwide. The university provides more than 600 undergraduate and graduate programs. It also offers doctoral studies in about 70 programs.

According to World University Ranking 2021, the University of Montreal is ranked 5th in Canada, while the university is also among the top 80 universities globally.
During the year 2021, more than 9,000 international students choose UdeM as their education destination. All these students depend upon scholarships, financial aid, and student employment programs. UdeM offers various scholarships according to the level of studies. University of Montréal scholarships 2022 are given below.
The Scholarship provides a tuition fee of $27,300 per year. This award is given in three levels based upon the academic record of a student.
Level A: $12,465.60 per year or $6,232.80 per session or $415.52 per credit.
Level B: $5,940.90 per year or $2,970.45 per session or $198.03 per credit.
Level C: $2,078.10 per year or $1,039.05 per session or $69.27 per credit.
UdeM provides scholarships to international students in the graduate program to assist them with their expenses. The scholarship's worth is around $9,787.95 per year or $3,262.65 per session.
UdeM provides a waiver of tuition fees to assist students in their Ph.D. programs which include: $21,038.13 per year or $7,012.71 per session for the entire duration of your studies.
Apart from these scholarships, UdeM also provides several employment opportunities to students. Graduate students can be given these opportunities in teaching assistantships, lecturing positions or research assistantships, etc.
The applicants need to have the following qualities to be eligible for UdeM scholarships.
The student must be international (from anywhere other than Canada)
A study permit is needed to avail yourself of a scholarship.
The applicants must have completed their Secondary High School before applying for the Bachelor's program
In the same way, Bachelors' and Master's degrees are required for Master's and Ph.D. programs, respectively
