Australia's Visa Approval Rate for Vietnamese Students Drops to 18-Year Low
United kingdom, United state
Australia granted visas to 12,600 Vietnamese students in the last 10 months, the lowest approval rate in 18 years at 78.7%. This is only the second time since 2005 that the rate has fallen below 80%.
The most rejections were for vocational and English language courses, with approval rates at 46.8% and 48.4%. Undergraduate and postgraduate approval rates remained high at 90-100%.
Australia has tightened immigration policies, including higher financial proof and English requirements, and limiting part-time work. Despite stricter rules, Vietnam remains a key market for Australian schools due to its high-achieving students.
