Belgium has introduced a fast-track family reunification visa process, cutting wait times to just 15 days. It used to take around nine months. To qualify, skilled foreign workers must now earn at least €5,000 monthly.

However, EU Blue Card holders, researchers, intra-corporate transferees, and self-employed individuals are exempt from this salary rule. They can still use the fast-track option if they meet other criteria. This change could impact how foreign professionals choose jobs, as many want the option to bring their family quickly.

While it helps attract talent, experts warn it might also make sponsoring family members tougher for some. The EU Blue Card remains a strong choice for workers wanting quick family reunification without strict income rules.
