Canada Expands Support for Francophone Immigrants with Welcoming Communities Program

Good news for Francophone immigrants to Canada! Starting in 2025, the Welcoming Francophone Communities (WFCs) initiative will expand to 24 towns and cities across Canada. Led by IRCC and local francophone communities, the program offers settlement support, cultural connection, and help with integration.

It’s all part of Canada’s push to boost French-speaking immigration outside Quebec from 7% in 2025 to 12% by 2029. The pilot program (2020–2024) saw great success, offering language services, job support, and cultural events. Now it’s going bigger! More details on who qualifies, like students and workers, are expected soon. Keep an eye out if you’re planning to settle in Canada as a Francophone!
