Canada Hikes Settlement Funds for Atlantic Immigration Program

Planning to move to Canada’s Atlantic provinces? You’ll now need a bit more in your bank account. As of 29 July 2025, IRCC has raised the settlement funds required under the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP).

For a single applicant, the amount jumped from $3,672 to $3,815, a 3.89% increase. Got family? The more members, the higher the required funds. This applies only if you are applying from outside Canada without a valid work permit.

Proof of funds must come from official bank letters, no loans or real estate equity allowed. The AIP remains a great pathway for skilled workers and graduates with job offers in Atlantic Canada. Just be ready with the proper paperwork and the right funds.
