Canada's Parents and Grandparents Immigration Program Continues Upward Trend
United kingdom, United state
In April, Canada's Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP) saw a 4.2% rise, with 2,100 new permanent residents, up from 2,025 in March. This follows a steady increase since January.
Despite this growth, the total for the first four months is 7,910, down 12.8% from last year. Ontario had the highest number of arrivals. The PGP allows Canadian citizens or permanent residents to sponsor parents and grandparents.
The process includes submitting biometrics and a financial support agreement. Overall immigration targets for Canada are set to increase, suggesting further growth in PGP immigration in the coming years.
