Canada’s Parents and Grandparents Program 2025 Opens July 28

Good news for Canadian residents! IRCC has confirmed that the 2025 Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP) will open on 28 July. Up to 10,000 invitations will be sent out over two weeks, but only to those who submitted interest forms back in 2020.

No new applications are being accepted this year. If you’re in that pool, please check your email, including your spam folder. Invited sponsors must apply through IRCC’s online portal.

Not selected? You can still consider the Super Visa, which lets parents and grandparents stay in Canada for up to 5 years per visit. This family sponsorship program is key for reuniting families and strengthening support systems across Canada.
