#evisa

Indonesia will halt all immigration services during the Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr holidays from March 27 to April 7. Services like passport issuance, visas, and residence permits will be unavailable.

However, immigration inspections and e-visa-on-arrival services will continue. Applications received during the break will be processed from April 8. Urgent passport requests can use a fast-track service before March 27 for Rp1,950,000 (USD 118).

Immigration lounges in major malls offer services. Emergency requests, such as medical travel or family deaths, will be processed via hotlines with the required documents.

Canada Removes CRS Bonus Points for Job Offers in Express Entry

Canada

#workvisa

Canada has removed extra CRS points for arranged employment in Express Entry, effective March 25, 2025. Candidates will no longer receive 50 or 200 points for a valid job offer.

This change lowers CRS scores for affected candidates but increases chances for others. IRCC says this is temporary but gave no end date. The move aims to curb fraud linked to LMIA purchases. Physicians' short-term job offers also lost eligibility.

Express Entry remains competitive, with scores based on age, education, language, and work experience. Canada continues efforts to strengthen immigration integrity and combat fraud in the system.

Florida Considers Easing Child Labor Laws Amid Worker Shortage

United States

#workvisa

Florida lawmakers are debating a bill to relax child labor laws. If passed, 14-year-olds could work overnight on school days. Meal breaks and work-hour limits for 16- and 17-year-olds would also be removed. Governor Ron DeSantis supports the change, arguing teens should fill jobs instead of immigrants.

Florida faces a severe labor shortage, with only 53 workers available per 100 jobs. The construction industry is hit hardest, relying heavily on foreign workers. Business owners struggle to hire staff. Critics warn that the bill risks the well-being. Companies must verify workers' legal status or face daily fines.
