Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum has called the latest US immigration raids “unjust,” voicing strong criticism against the aggressive actions of ICE and border agents. Sheinbaum said Mexico has activated special protocols, with consulates stepping in to support detained citizens.
At least 26 Mexicans were held in Georgia during the most recent raids. The president stressed that migrants are vital to the US economy and pushed again for comprehensive immigration reform.
To back her stance, Mexico has expanded its consular network across the US to protect nationals facing detention or deportation. For Sheinbaum, defending Mexican immigrants abroad remains a top priority.
