Nearly Half of 2025’s Fortune 500 Companies Founded by Immigrants or Their Children

A new analysis shows that 46.2% of the 2025 Fortune 500 companies were founded by immigrants or their children. These 231 companies generated $8.6 trillion in revenue in 2024 and employed over 15.4 million people worldwide.

Tech giants like Amazon, Apple, and NVIDIA, as well as Levi Strauss & Co. and Sirius XM, are among them. The data highlights immigrants’ vital role in driving innovation, economic growth, and job creation in the U.S. Experts say current immigration policies risk undermining this advantage. In fact, 10 of the 14 newcomers to the list this year were also founded by immigrants or their children.
