A violent neo-Nazi attack on Camp Sovereignty, a sacred Indigenous site in Melbourne, has shocked Australia and raised tough questions about police response to far-right extremism.
The assault came during a far-right “March for Australia” anti-immigration rally, where around 50 men linked to the National Socialist Network stormed the camp, injuring four people and desecrating the sacred fire.
Witnesses say police arrived only after the attackers fled, sparking anger from Aboriginal leaders who called it systemic racism. Many now demand that the attack be recognized as a hate crime. What do you think Australian authorities are doing enough to stop the rise of far-right groups?
