New Zealand Launches' Parent Boost' Visa for Long-Term Family Visits

Starting September 29, 2025, New Zealand will introduce its new Parent Boost Visa, enabling parents of citizens and residents to stay for up to five years, with the option to renew for an additional five years, for a maximum stay of ten years. While this long-term visitor visa strengthens family ties, it’s not a pathway to New Zealand residency.

Applicants need sponsorship, proof of funds, health insurance, and must pass two medical checks. The visa fee? NZD 3,000, or $2,450 under the Pacific fee band.

This move, along with updates to the Golden Visa (Active Investor Plus) scheme, reflects New Zealand’s push to attract skilled migrants and wealthy investors. Excited about the chance to reunite with family in NZ?
