Prince Edward Island has just held its second surprise PEI PNP draw of the year. This draw broke the province’s usual monthly ITA schedule and caught many candidates off guard.
On December 23, PEI invited 13 candidates through the Labour Impact and Express Entry streams. The focus was on priority occupations that support PEI’s economy.
What’s new here? The province widened its eligibility criteria. Candidates with weaker ties to PEI were also considered. This is a shift from recent draws that favored PEI graduates and local workers. With nomination limits tight in 2025, is PEI moving faster to use its allocation? This draw suggests flexibility is back.
