The Trump administration has fired two Concord immigration judges, Florence Chamberlain and Roberta Wilson, both hired under Biden and close to finishing their probation. A third judge in Sacramento, Alison Daw, was also removed.
This comes as part of a wider purge; over 100 immigration judges nationwide have been fired or resigned since Trump took office. Concord and San Francisco courts have been hit hardest, with nearly a quarter of Bay Area immigration judges dismissed, most of them women.
Many of the ousted judges previously represented immigrants or had higher asylum grant rates. What do you think about immigration courts becoming more political than fair?
