Poland's Prime Minister, Donald Tusk, announced plans to temporarily suspend asylum rights as part of a tougher migration strategy to regain control of its borders. The move targets the migrant crisis at the Belarus border and visa system issues from the previous government.

Tusk stressed the need for stricter border controls, citing national security concerns. He also rejected the EU's proposed migration pact, stating Poland would not accept asylum seekers under the relocation mechanism.

Despite the previous government's high immigration levels, Tusk emphasized that future immigrants must respect Polish customs and integrate properly.

Due to language barriers, Dulaj Madhushan, a Sri Lankan immigrant in Berlin, faces challenges in pursuing his goal of becoming a bus driver. While working at an Amazon sorting center, he finds little need for German, as English is commonly used.

However, to work as a bus driver, Madhushan must learn intermediate German. This reflects the larger issue immigrants face in Germany, where learning the language is crucial for some jobs but not always necessary in multilingual environments. Immigrants also face slow bureaucratic processes and insufficient support for learning German alongside work commitments.

IRCC has announced new Post-Graduate Work Permit (PGWP) eligibility rules starting November 1. Graduates from specific fields of study—such as agriculture, healthcare, STEM, trade, and transport—will now need to meet additional field-specific requirements.

However, these rules don't apply to bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD holders. The list of eligible programs is based on Canada’s labor market needs and is organized by the Classification of Instructional Programs (CIP).

A new language requirement has also been introduced, with different Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) scores required depending on the level of study. These changes aim to align the PGWP program with evolving workforce demands.
