US Grants Citizenship to 11,000 Immigrants for Independence Day

The U.S. will grant citizenship to 11,000 immigrants in over 195 ceremonies between June 28 and July 5 to celebrate Independence Day. USCIS Director Ur M. Jaddou highlighted the importance of these new citizens in adding diversity to the nation.
In FY 2023, USCIS welcomed 878,500 new citizens, with 589,400 naturalized so far in FY 2024. Special ceremonies will be held at historic sites, including George Washington’s Mount Vernon and Battleship New Jersey.
President Biden also announced an executive order to provide legal status and a citizenship path for 500,000 undocumented immigrants married to U.S. citizens.
