The US State Department under Donald Trump has revoked the visas of six foreigners for posting social media comments critical of far-right commentator Charlie Kirk’s assassination. Officials said the US “has no obligation to host foreigners who wish death on Americans.”
The department shared screenshots of users from Argentina, Brazil, Germany, Mexico, Paraguay, and South Africa who mocked or condemned Kirk. Critics say this move violates free speech rights and targets dissent.
The Trump administration has already expelled diplomats, artists, and activists for online criticism, sparking outrage from civil rights groups who call it censorship disguised as immigration enforcement.
