Malta Golden Visa

About

By making a sizeable investment in Malta, high-income persons can use the Malta Golden Visa (Malta Residence and Visa Program) method to obtain a Maltese passport within one to three years.

You must contribute at least 750,000 EUR to the national development fund in order to obtain a Maltese passport in one year. Similarly, a 600,000 EUR investment will earn you a Malta passport in three years. Moreover, there are two ways to invest in a Malta Golden Visa:

Citizenship through Investment in Malta.
The programme known as "Citizenship by Naturalization for Exceptional Services by Direct Investment" is the investment path that results in Maltese citizenship. Investors are eligible for a Maltese passport through this programme after three years of residence.

Program for Permanent Residence in Malta (MPRP).
The investment requirement is lower for this scheme, and participants are given Maltese permanent residency permits. Holders of an MPRP also qualify for Maltese citizenship after five years of residency.
