Duration
The work permit is an Ecuadorian temporary resident visa that is also referred to as a long-stay visa. Foreigners who want to reside and work in Ecuador are supposed to apply for this visa. It may be issued for a period of up to two years at a time and can be extended before its expiration.

Fees
The applicant must pay a visa cost of 400 USD for an Ecuador work permit. A charge of 50 USD must also be paid for the application form. An additional 200 USD is to be paid for each dependent joining you in the country.

Extension

The work permit for initially valid for two years and can be extended for an equal amount of time. However, you must apply before the previous one expires. Furthermore, you may also apply for permanent residence after being in the country for 21 years.
