Hundreds of South Koreans Detained in Massive ICE Raid at Hyundai Plant

Nearly 500 workers were detained in a huge ICE raid at Hyundai’s electric vehicle plant in Georgia, marking the largest single-site enforcement in Homeland Security Investigations’ history. Most of those held were Korean nationals, sparking concern from Seoul, which urged the US to protect its citizens’ rights.

Immigration officials said the raid followed months of investigation into unlawful employment practices. President Donald Trump defended the operation, calling the workers “illegal aliens.”

Hyundai stressed that none of those arrested were directly employed by the company, and production wasn’t disrupted. With 300 Koreans detained, the raid risks straining US-South Korea relations. What do you think, job protection or diplomatic headache?
