Indonesia’s Golden Visa Rakes In $2.9 Billion and Counting

Indonesia’s golden visa programme is already paying off significantly, bringing in more than 48 trillion rupiah (approximately $2.9 billion) since its launch in July 2024. The Directorate General of Immigration has issued 1,012 permits so far, primarily to foreign companies, which have contributed nearly $2.8 billion.

Individual investors contributed around $15 million, while other categories collectively brought in an additional $87 million. The golden visa offers residency for five to ten years, along with perks such as fast-track immigration, airport priority, and legal certainty for investments.

Officials say the programme is enhancing Indonesia’s global appeal to investors and skilled professionals, while supporting long-term economic growth.
