For taking a job in the United Arab Emirates, a permit is required in the form of a work visa. It enables the employee to work with specific companies within certain limits. Moreover, UAE work visa are issued for a limited period. Thus, it can be renewed before your current one expires. 

 

UAE Work Visa


A UAE work visa holder is allowed to enter the country for employment. Ministry of Human Resources & Emiratisation issues work permit. Other than this, it's valid for up to 30 days. Furthermore, it can be extended to another 30 days. Thus, it gives you 60 days to stay in the country. Meanwhile, you and your employer have to arrange;

  • Residence Visa

  • Emirates ID card

  • Entry Visa

 

UAE Work Visa requirements

 

  • Note that there is no maximum age limit. Any foreigner above 18 can apply. However, for workers over 65, the company pays a higher fee.
  • The company hiring you has to have a valid license.

  • The company must not have any violations.

  • The work you do must correspond to the company's nature.

  • Individuals applying should meet the standards set by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation.

 

Work Visa UAE documents required

 

  • Before applying for a work visa, you have to be academically qualified. It is to assure the Ministry that you are capable of owning a work permit. 
  • You need to submit the following documents.
  • A valid passport and its photocopy

  • Passport-size photos

  • An Emirates ID card

  • An entry permit

  • Valid Medical Certificates

  • A copy of the Company Card and commercial licence from the company

  • Copy of your academic qualifications (approved by the UAE embassy and your country's Ministry of foreign affairs).

 

UAE employment visa process step by step

 

  • The application process starts;
  • When the employer gets the application for the work visa on the Ministry of Labour's online system.

  • The Ministry reviews the application. Also, they ask for any documents required and correct any irregularities.

  • The Ministry issues the approval. Note that it can be downloaded from the Ministry's website by the employer. 

  • Sending job offer 

  • Approval of work permit. Normally it will take 3 to 5 days.

  • After approval, you will receive an entry permit visa. If you already live in the UAE on some other visa, you need to get a new entry permit visa.

 

After entering the UAE, the hiring company must complete the following formalities.

  • You need to obtain a UAE ID Card. for that, visit the Emirates ID service centre and provide your valid passport and entry permit.

  • You will need to go through the process of medical screening.

  • Labour card and stamping the work residency permit on their passport

 

How long does it take to process an employment visa in UAE?


Usually, it takes around two weeks for the procedure to be complete.
