Germany to Deport Foreigners Supporting Terrorist Acts
United kingdom, United state
Germany has approved a proposal to deport foreigners who support or approve of terrorist acts. This includes social media comments praising such crimes.
The new law doesn't require a criminal conviction for deportation if the offence falls under Section 140 of the Criminal Code. Interior Minister Nancy Faeser emphasized the need for strict immigration laws to enhance public security.
The law targets those celebrating terrorist attacks, such as recent events in Mannheim and attacks by Hamas on Israel. Europol reports show that terrorism-related arrests, especially for jihadist acts, are most common in the EU, with Germany being significantly affected.
