Scotland is becoming less tolerant towards immigration, former first minister Humza Yousaf has warned. Speaking on a BBC Radio 4 documentary, Yousaf said the “toxicity” of debates on immigration and multiculturalism in England has now spread north.
He admitted Scotland once prided itself on being more welcoming, but recent protests outside asylum hotels and rising concerns suggest attitudes are “cooling.” Research by Migration Policy Scotland also shows more Scots now want immigration reduced.
