Significant changes are underway for those considering the UK immigration system. From 22 July 2025, the UK will begin enforcing the first wave of visa reforms aimed at reducing net migration.
The new rules limit skilled worker visas, ending sponsorship for medium-skilled roles (RQF levels 3–5) unless the role is exempt. Care workers and senior care workers can no longer apply from outside the UK. Additionally, salary thresholds for visas are increasing.
For international students, more changes are on the horizon: tighter university compliance, a possible tuition levy, and a shorter Graduate visa duration. And by year-end, expect stricter English language requirements for both principal applicants and their dependents.
