British Muslim commentator Sami Hamdi has been detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) after his visa was suddenly revoked, officials confirmed. Hamdi, known for his outspoken views on Middle East politics, was arrested at San Francisco International Airport while on a speaking tour in the United States.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) called his detention an “injustice,” claiming it was linked to his criticism of the Israeli government. ICE said Hamdi entered the U.S. on October 19 and that his visa was revoked on October 24, making him ineligible to remain.
Conservative activist Laura Loomer claimed credit for the move, while critics accused the Trump administration of silencing dissenting voices.
