The University of Oxford is an ancient institution in the English-speaking world. It is so old that no one knows when it was founded, but it is thought that classes were held there as early as the 11th century. The University of Oxford is a college-based research university in Oxford, England.

There are four academic divisions within Oxford University, i.e., the Humanities Division, Social Sciences Division, Medical Sciences Division, and Mathematical, Physical & Life Sciences Division.

The University of Oxford also has the Department for Continuing Education and its gardens, libraries, and museums. The university is in and around Oxford's medieval city centre. It has 44 colleges and more than 100 libraries, making it the largest library system in the UK.

The University of Oxford is a prominent member of the Europaeum, the League of European Research Institutions, and the Coimbra Group, a group of the best universities in Europe. Oxford is always ranked as one of the top five universities in the world. Oxford University has been around long, and many great thinkers and teachers have graduated from this university.

Students

There are about 22,000 students, including 12,510 undergraduates and 13,044 postgraduates. And over half of them are first-year students, and more than 40% are international students from more than 140 countries.

The satisfaction level of students regarding the quality of their courses at the university is 90%.

Accommodation

The University of Oxford provides accommodation for all undergraduate students during their first year and at least one other year of their course. All first-year undergraduate students are offered college housing either on the leading site of their college or in a nearby college branch.

If you decide to "live out," Oxford has a lot of houses and apartments that you can rent privately in case you want to live with a spouse or with friends from other colleges.
