You might need to apply for an Indonesian business visa if you need to travel there for business. Foreign nationals intending to participate in meetings, attend conferences, sign contracts, or engage in any other business-related activity are granted an Indonesia business visa. You cannot, however, perform any work for an Indonesian business or take a job there.

The business visa to Indonesia can be;

Single-entry visa
The duration of a Single Entry Business Visa (SEBV) is up to 60 days. The visa is only good for one entry, and it expires as soon as the visitor departs Indonesia.

Multiple-entry visa
The MEBV (Multiple Entry Business Visa) is valid for a year. Foreigners may enter and remain in Indonesia for a maximum continuous period of 60 days after obtaining their MEBV sticker at the Indonesian embassy overseas. After departing Indonesia, a foreigner may return for a further 60 consecutive days.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a business visa to Indonesia you;

  • must have a business to attend to in the country.
  • are also eligible if you are to attend a seminar or conference.
  • should fulfil all the requirements regarding health and finances.

Documents

You must provide;

  • Thoroughly filled application form for an Indonesian visa.
  • A recent colour photo for the passport with a white background.
  • Original passport having minimum of six months of remaining time after the expiration of the visa and two blank pages for stamping.
  • For owners of EP, PR, DP, and S-Passes, a copy of their residence permit.
  • A letter of invitation stating the purpose and length of the visit from a firm or sponsor in Indonesia.
  • A copy of the applicant's Indonesian Identity Card is required if they have been invited by a private sponsor.

Process

Once you have the documents mentioned above, you should apply for the visa. You may have to produce additional documents as per the instructions.

Visa Processing Time
On a regular basis, processing takes three working days, omitting the day of submission. One working day is required for processing for the same-day submission service. So, you may apply at least a week before you want to visit to avoid any mishappening.

How to Apply
While applying for the visa, you may contact the nearest embassy, provide the necessary documents and pay the fee. You will be notified to receive your visa, once the application is processed.

Duration & Fees

Duration
The duration of a Single Entry Business Visa (SEBV) is up to 60 days. The Multiple Entry Business Visa (MEBV), on the other hand, has a 12-month validity period. Foreigners may enter and remain in Indonesia for a maximum continuous period of 60 days after obtaining their MEBV permit at the Indonesian embassy overseas.

Fees
The processing fee for a business visa in Indonesia may vary depending on various factors. It normally starts from 50 USD for a single entry visa and can cost more a multiple entry visa.

Extension

A single entrance visa may be renewed in the county up to four times for a total of 30 days per extension. The foreign national must go to a biometric session and give interview at the neighbourhood immigration office in order to receive the extension.

A double entry visa cannot be extended within the nation. After departing Indonesia, a foreigner may return for a further 60 consecutive days.
