The Golden Visa (Investor Visa) of Italy is a two-year, renewable visa available to foreign nationals who intend to make a sizable donation or investment in Italy. One of these actions was introducing a special tax structure intended just for holders of the Investor Visa for Italy.

Eligibility

An Italian Golden Visa (Investor Visa) may be available to non-EU nationals who make a single investment in one of the following: 

  • A government bond that has been issued by the Italian Republic. 
  • Business with operations and a headquarters in Italy, or
  • Cutting-edge startup

Documents

You must produce certain documents while applying for a Golden Visa (Investor Visa).

  • Identity documents
  • Proof of funds to carry on business activities in Italy.
  • Entry visa application form
  • Recent passport-sized photograph
  • Valid travel document with expiry at least three months longer than the visa requested.
  • Specific Clearance issued by the Investor Visa for Italy Committ.

Process

An Italy Investor Visa application consists of two parts:

  • Online application for a Nulla Osta is now available (certificate of no impediment).
  • Visa application at an Italian Embassy or Consulate.

After receiving this visa, you can fly to Italy and apply for a Residence Permit to stay there for an extended period.

Visa Processing Time
The Investor visa is likely to take about 2 months.

How to Apply
Follow the step given below while applying for this visa.

  • Application to the competent Investor Committee for the 'Nulla Osta' (Security Clearance).
  • Applying for a visa at the Italian Consulate in the applicant's home country.
  • Within 8 days of arrival in Italy, submit an application for a residence permit at the competent police headquarters.
  • The investment must be completed within three months of the investor's arrival in Italy.

Duration & Fees

Duration
It is valid for a maximum of two years. It is renewable indefinitely for periods of three years as provided the investment is continued.

Fees
This visa cost 116 EUR. But you also need to arrange a certain amount of investment.

Extension

As far as the original investment is maintained, the residency permit remains renewable for three years. The candidate would be entitled to apply for a permanent residence permit after 5 years of continuous registered legal residence in Italy.
