Student Visa Italy

About

International students who wish to study in Italy need a Student Visa to enter the country. So, you may need to apply for this visa if you plan to study there for more than three months.

Depending on your nationality, you might or might not require a visa. You will also require an Italian residency permit in addition to the visa.

If you wish to stay in Italy for more than 90 days, you must apply for an Italy visa. An Italian long-stay visa is a type of Student Visa (also known as a national or D-visa).

Italian Embassies or Visa application centres in your home country issue Student Visas to Italy. Students from the European Union (EU) or the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) can visit Italy with travel documents or EU ID cards and stay for the duration of their study without a visa.

On the other hand, EU students must register at their local Questura station (police station) upon arrival to receive a residence permit if their study program is longer than three months. If you're a non-EU student, you'll need to apply for Student Visa before coming to Italy.
