South Korea Strikes Deal With US to Free Citizens Detained in Hyundai Raid

South Korea says it has reached an agreement with the US to release its citizens detained in last week’s massive ICE raid at a Hyundai battery plant in Georgia. Over 475 workers were arrested, including more than 300 South Koreans accused of working illegally on visitor or short-term visas.

Seoul confirmed it may send a chartered plane to bring them home once procedures are complete. The raid, defended by President Trump as protecting US jobs, has shocked South Korean businesses, with LG Energy Solution suspending most US trips.

With trade talks underway, many in Seoul fear this could chill future investments. Do you think such raids will impact US foreign business ties?
