Chicago Judge Orders Immigration Agents to Wear Body Cameras Amid Crackdown

A U.S. judge in Chicago has ordered federal immigration agents to wear body cameras during Trump’s ongoing Operation Midway Blitz crackdown. Judge Sara Ellis said agents must turn cameras on during all enforcement actions after reports that they had ignored her earlier order banning tear gas and pepper balls without warning.

The ruling follows protests and lawsuits accusing federal officers of targeting journalists, clergy, and protesters. Ellis also demanded immigration officials appear in court to explain how they’re following her orders, which remain in effect until November 6. The decision comes as Illinois officials challenge Trump’s deployment of National Guard troops, calling it an overreach of federal power.
