Non-Qataris can do business in Qatar for the short term with a Business Visa. This visa is divided into two categories.

Business Visa for 72 Hours
This visa is given out on arrival and can be extended for another 72 hours. It is designed for business travellers who need to visit the country for a short time. Applicants must bring proper paperwork demonstrating the reason for their trip.

Visa for Business
Business Visa is accessible to new expatriates and anyone working in Qatar on a short-term contract. It is valid for three months and must be obtained in advance from a Qatar-based recognized company or institution.

Eligibility

You are eligible for a Business Visa in Qatar if you;

  • have documentation of company ownership and the reason for your visit.
  • have sufficient money to afford your stay in Qatar.
  • meet the character requirements.
  • meet the health requirements.

Documents

You must provide the following documents.

  • A passport must be valid for a minimum of six months beyond the intended travel date.
  • Form for obtaining a visa, fully completed.
  • Photographs that are coloured according to the photo specifications. 
  • A cover letter from the invitee company with all of the necessary information.
  • Flight bookings that have been confirmed.
  • Proof of Income Tax Returns
  • Medical Certificate from the GCC
  • Itinerary in detail
  • Registration of the invited company
  • Proof of lodging - letter of invitation, hotel reservation, etc.
  • Invitation letter from an exhibition or conference as proof of purpose of visit.
  • Bank statement or other equivalent documents as proof of sufficient funds.

Process

You are required to meet the eligibility conditions and other requirements to apply for a visa in Qatar. These criteria are the rules that must be followed while applying for a visa.

Visa Processing Time
The processing period for obtaining a Qatar Business Visa is approximately 15 days. It will take longer or shorter depending on a variety of circumstances. You should submit your application 5-6 weeks before your intended move to Qatar.

To apply for a Business Visa in Qatar, go to the authorized Qatar Visa Service website and fill out an online application. The steps for submitting a visa application are as follows:

  • Online, go to the Qatar Embassy's official website.
  • Fill out the application for a Qatari Business Visa.
  • Attach copies of the required papers in the appropriate format.
  • Submit the documents, as well as the application form, via the internet.
  • Pay the required visa processing fee.
  • After completing all the above steps, you will receive the visa by email.

Duration & Fees

Duration
This visa is accessible to new expatriates and anyone working in Qatar on a short-term contract. It is only valid for three months at a time. A Qatar-based recognized company or institution must plan it.

Fees
The Business Visa for Qatar costs 230 USD if you apply for 3 months stay. If you apply for 30 days, you are required to pay 90 USD.

Extension

If you want to extend a Business Visa to Qatar, you must have a good cause for it. You can apply online for an extension of your visa. 

After your application has been approved, you can apply for a 180-day extension of your current visa validity.
