Family Visa Bahrain

About

Whether you recently started working in Bahrain or even have lived there for a time, it's probable that you've considered bringing your family. Who wouldn't want to live close to their spouse, kids, and parents in the same house, right?

If so, you are able to sponsor your family's entry into Bahrain using a family visa. These relatives could be spouses, kids, or parents. But in order to be eligible for anything, you must involve your employer. The appropriate office will be organised by your employer, enabling you to bring your family to Bahrain.

Eligibility

In order to be eligible for a family visa,

  • The employee's monthly salary must be at least 400 BHD.
  • Although it is strongly advised that they be valid for at least two years before applying, the applicants' passports have to be valid for at least six months.
  • If a relative is older than 18, the Nationality, Passports, and Residency Affairs should be contacted immediately to handle the residence permit application process.
  • Children who were born in Bahrain or who received new passports there should have a new file at Nationality Passports and Residency Affairs opened (or updated).

Documents

While applying for a Family Visa in Bahrain, you must provide the following documents;

  • Birth certificate copy of any dependents (in Arabic or English)
  • If available, a copy of the dependents' identity card.
  • A copy of the employee's spouse or husband's passport.
  • A translated marriage license in either Arabic or English
  • Employees in Bahrain's private sector are required to show a copy of their most recent paid electricity bill.

Process

You must work with your employer, who will submit the application for your dependents' residence permits to the Labour Market Regulatory Authority, in order to sponsor your family in Bahrain (LMRA). You will be one step closer to receiving a family visa after it is finished.

Visa Processing Time
An application's approval is not issued right away. Applications will be processed in about 3–5 working days. So, if you want your family to join you in Bahrain, you need to apply at least a few weeks in advance.

How to Apply
Go through the following steps while applying for a family visa.

  • Start the process of requesting the dependents' residence permits by logging onto LMRA's Expat Management System (EMS).
  • Print the confirmation of your application.
  • Pay the fees by EMS or any of the recognized banks after the residency status has been approved.
  • Print the EMS permits, then head to the immigration office to get the stickers for the residency permits.
