ABOUT

It is a three-year visa for investment. It is given to foreigners who spend significant money on an Argentine activity, commerce, or service. The Investment Visa of Argentina lets you stay for a longer period. Fluent Spanish is required to make Argentina your second homeland. Furthermore, Investors have the option of making multi entries.

ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible, you must fulfill the following criteria. 

  • A minimum investment of 150,000 USD, or 1.5 million Argentine Pesos, is necessary to apply for a visa. The funds must be held in BCRA-approved financial institutions (Central Bank of the Argentine Republic).
  • No criminal history. Police clearance certificates from countries where you lived for more than one year in the last three years and an affidavit declaring that you have no criminal history.
  • Stable financial condition.
  • A reliable source of income and capital.
  • Outstanding business plan.

DOCUMENTS

You need the following documents to apply. 

  • Proof of a Residential Address 
  • Original Certificate of Police Clearance. 
  • One passport-size picture
  • Your investment/business plan.
  • Evidence of a professional background 
  • Affidavit concerning criminal history
  • Sources of Funds Statements.

All materials must be translated into Spanish.

PROCESS

This process may take several months after applying for the Investment Visa. To apply, you must submit financial records, a CV detailing your business experience, and an investment and business plan to Argentina's Ministry of Industry and Tourism, demonstrating the funds' origin and legality.

Funds must enter the country through banks or financial institutions licenced by the Central Bank of Argentina. If the project is presented in English, it must be accompanied by a Spanish translation.

DURATION & FEES

Duration
This visa is valid for three years. After this, investors may apply for permanent residency. Thus, it provides an extra path to temporary residency. 

Fees
The Investment Visa fee is 2000 ARS, while the consular fees are divided into two sections. The first is the visa (temporary residence fee), and the second is the Migratory Bag (temporary residence charge).

EXTENTION

Investors can apply to extend their visa after one year. Your visa may extend if you still need to work on your new business in the country or make Argentina your new home by applying for temporary or permanent residency.
