Visit Visa is for tourism, medical, media/journalism, religious, and business. One can apply for a visit visa to Argentina, which is issued to any foreigner who wishes to enter the country for a short term. You can stay for 90 days on this visa.

There are various countries whose citizens do not need a visa for short-term visits to Argentina. It is an easy process to get a permit to visit Argentina. To receive your Tourist Visa, you must apply to your home country's Consular Office of the Argentine Republic. The visa duration depends on the purpose of the Visit Visa.

ELIGIBILITY

It will help if you have your passport and all the related documents to travel to the country. Other than this, you are eligible to get this visa if you meet the following requirements. 

  • Throughout your stay, you must have enough money to maintain yourself and your dependents (such as children or older parents). 
  • You must bear a good character and have a clean criminal record. Also, you may be required to present a PCC (Police Clearance Certificate). 
  • You must meet the authority's basic health requirements.
  • It will help if you have strong ties to your home country to return after your stay. 
  • You must have a legitimate and substantial reason for visiting the country.

DOCUMENTS

Following is the list of requirements documents for a tourist visa. Note that you may be asked to submit any additional documents other than this by your country's Consular Office.

  • Two recent photographs (4cm × 4cm)
  • Minimum 2 blank pages in a valid passport for at least six months.
  • Proof of earnings
  • The candidate is required to fill out and sign a visa application form.
  • Consular fees must be paid.
  • Interview with a consul
  • Itinerary and hotel reservations.
  • Reservation for a round journey.
  • A letter of invitation is required. In case of no hotel reservation, an individual has issued an invitation (letter of invitation).

When to Apply
The optimal time to apply for an Argentina visa is two to three months before departure.

Visa Processing Time
After a personal interview, the typical processing time is 29 days, but this can vary based on the Embassy's protocols. After that, you will be informed you about the outcome by email or phone. If your application is not accepted, you will be notified via an official letter and given 90 days to reapply. It may require some more documents as it depends on different circumstances of your homeland.

Fees
The fee for this visa is around 75 USD. But note that the Argentine visa fee differs for each country, so you must check with your home agencies about the fee.

EXTENSION

Travellers can extend their stay in Argentina for another 90 days. For that they need to applying at the main Dirección Nacional de Migraciones office in Buenos Aires, located at Avenida Antártida Argentina 1355. You can only prolong your stay once. If you stay longer than the allowed period, you may be penalised. Also, as a penalty, you may have to leave the country within ten days, and you may not re-enter the country in the future.
