ABOUT

Employees who are planning to work in Argentina for longer than 90 days will need a 23 A or 23 E visa.

23 E visa is for managers, Scientists, technicians, specialists and administrative employees. Your employees may need to request a 23 E visa if they fall into one of these categories. It is a visa for an extended period. With this visa, you can travel, study, and bring your dependents into the country. 

ELIGIBILITY

You are eligible to get a work permit if you are;

  • in good health condition
  • financially sound 
  • not having a record of any illegal activities.

DOCUMENTS

Work Visa applications must be submitted to the Argentine Republic's Consular Office in the foreign applicant's residence. For that, you need the following documents to apply for a visa.

  • Proof of residency within the Consulate's jurisdiction (such as a utility bill or other document that serves as proof).
  • Two recent colour photographs (4cm × 4cm).
  • At the time of entry into Argentina, you must have a valid passport for at least six (6) months and has at least two (2) blank pages.
  • Payment of migration charge.
  • An employment contract signed by the employer quoting the contracting company's registration number and signed before the consul (RENURE).
  • Payment of the consular fee. Pay the cost in the Consular Office's local currency.
  • An apostilled or legalised certificate of good behaviour from the competent authority of the nations.
  • Please keep in mind that extra or additional documentation may be required by consular authorities if deemed appropriate.

 

PROCESS

How to Apply
The applicant must first apply for entry permission (Permiso de Ingreso). Application for a visa should be submitted through the Immigration Department of Argentina (Direccion Nacional de Migraciones, DNM). 

Please remember that a few documents and your signed contract with your Argentina employer will need to be translated into Spanish.

When the authorities grant the permit, the Argentina Embassy or Consulate of your home country is notified. Now you need to apply for Work Visa. You can download the application form from the Embassy or Consulate's website. After that, make an appointment with the Argentina Embassy or Consulate. Take along your application prerequisites and identity documents.

Visa Processing Time
Argentina has the option of an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) instead of a paper visa. The processing period for an Argentina ETA is determined by the processing speed you have selected. Thus, it can range from 10 to 16 days.

DURATION & FEES

Duration
It is valid for one year and may be extended indefinitely. The 23 A visa applies to most people moving to Argentina for a salaried activity that lasts one year.

Fees 
The fees depend on the visa type you need. The fee for a Temporary/ Permanent Work Visa is 250 USD. The Argentina authorities do not accept checks or cash. You need to pay online or by credit card. Their Work Visa fees or costs vary for each country. Please remember that you should pay the fees for a work permit.

EXTENSION

If needed, employees can extend this visa for longer. Argentina Work Visa is for one year. To extend your visa, you should apply three months before the expiration of the visa. It may be extended indefinitely.
