ABOUT

A "Passeport Talent" Visa or Residence Permit is a Long-Term Visa. It can be renewed for four years.

The multi-year "passeport talent" was created to help foreign employees and all those self-employed people contribute to the economic attractiveness of France. However, unless you're from the European Union or Algeria, you do not need to apply for it.

Your employment contract and stay in France must be for at least three months. It will allow you to stay in France for four years, beginning on the day you arrive. 

Your family members will be granted multi-year residence permits if they accompany you. This permit will allow your spouse and any children who have reached the age of eighteen to work. You and your family must go to your local police station in France three months after your arrival. It is to ask them for a multi-year residence permit that is appropriate for your situation.

This visa is provided under four streams, it is for:

  • highly qualified paid employee.
  • self-employed person or engaged in a liberal profession.
  • performers or creators of literary or artistic work.
  • someone having a national or international reputation.

ELIGIBILITY

You are eligible, if you are:

  • well qualified or a highly paid employee.
  • engaged in a liberal profession or self-employed person.
  • able to prove your international and national reputation.
  • a performer. Or create an artistic or literary work.
  • a qualified employee or have French higher education.
  • working for a government or commercial research agency or in higher education.
  • starting a firm in France or taking over an existing one. You're working on an innovative economic project that a government body has recognised.
  • making a direct financial investment in France.
  • starting a new job as a corporate officer in a French firm.

Documents

You may need the following documents if you are applying for this visa.

  • Provide evidence that you are eligible for the visa.
  • Proof of your financial sources.
  • Dependent's documents, if any.
  • Your original visa or residence permit for an extended period.
  • Your travel document.
  • A copy of the birth certificate (translated into French by a licensed translator).
  • If you're married, your wedding certificate (translated).
  • If you have any, your children's birth certificates (translated).
  • Address proof is required.
  • Application with three ID photos (different according to your activity).
  • Official documentation about your work.

Process

You will be issued a Long-Term Visa according to the duration of your stay. After having the required documents, you may apply for International Talents and Economic Attractiveness Visa.
