Student Visa Brazil

About

You'll need a visa if you wish to study in Brazil. If you are a foreign student from another country, you must apply for a Student Visa. Except for Guyana and Suriname, people of other South American countries can enter Brazil with a national ID card and avoid much of the visa process.

Eligibility

You are eligible if;

  • an educational institute has invited you to Brazil.
  • you are not from South America.

Documents

You must provide the following documents.

  • Your passport
  • Two passport-sized photos
  • Enrollment confirmation
  • If you are applying from any other country than yours, you'll need to show proof of residency.
  • Receipt of the visa application fee.
  • A police certificate from your home country's police force.

Process

All of these documents must be processed in person at the Brazilian Embassy, Consulate, or visa centre nearest you. You can apply to alter your status in Brazil if you're already there. The above documents must still be submitted.

Visa Processing Time
It takes approximately 7 to 10 working days to obtain a Student Visa for Brazil.

Each visa application form must be signed by the applicant (and parents must sign for those under the age of 18) and must be submitted with the required papers.
