The Schengen Area under the European Union has opened many doors for international travel. One of the benefits which travellers have gained is from the Schengen visa. In our article, you will learn about it and its requirements.

What is the Schengen Visa?

It's a short-stay visa that lets a non-European national visit any country in the Schengen area for 90 days. It's one of the most widely-used visas in the EU because it makes travelling easy within the area. Thus, it is ideal for those visiting for business or vocational purposes.

What are the Requirements for a Schengen Visa?

Essential documents are required for this visa such as a valid passport, passport-sized pictures and an application form. Furthermore, you'll need to submit proof of accommodation, return and travel medical insurance. The embassy you're applying to will also need your biometrics and employment letter.

Can an Unemployed Person Apply for a Schengen Visa?

An unemployed person, such as a student, can apply for a Schengen visa. But they'll have to provide additional documents. That is why obtaining this visa can be a bit difficult for them.
