About

Cornell Institution is located in Ithaca, New York. It is a private Ivy League and also a statutory land grant research university. It was founded by Ezra Cornell and Andrew Dickson White in 1865. Its purpose was to make contributions to all disciplines of knowledge, such as from the classics to the sciences and from the applied to the theoretical. This institute is divided into 7 graduate divisions and undergraduate colleges at its main Ithaca site. Each college and division sets its own admissions standards and academic offerings. The university also manages two satellite campuses. One is located in New York City, and another is in Qatar's Education City.

This university is one of the leading institutions in the world for research, teaching and outreach. Cornell University is a combination of both private and public schools and colleges. It is also a partner of State University of New York and a member of Ivy League Universities. Cornell University offers both campuses offer endless outdoor and indoor activities year-round. It participates in every important event, from Intramural leagues and NCCA Division I athletics to the Cornell Botanic Gardens and scenic overlooks.

Accommodation

University housing is divided into three sections. These sections are West Campus, North Campus and Collegetown. The university began experiments with co-ed dormitories in 1971. It continued the tradition of residential advisors (RAs) within the campus system.
