Unitec Institute of Technology

ABOUT

Situated in Auckland, the Unitec Institute of Technology is one of the largest institutes for technology in New Zealand. It offers short courses, diplomas and master's degrees in 128 programs. The institute operates at one main campus on the Mt Albert site and two sub-campuses in Henderson and Albany; throughout the north shore, there are various pop-ups. Unitech also offers programs overseas.

At Unitec Institute of Technology, emphasis in all areas is on a lot of practical and theoretical learning. The teaching method here differs from the conventional university-level education model, predominantly theory. For example, In School of Computing Science offers an IBM internship program at Mt Albert Campus. Also, in partnership with New Zealand Police, the university offers an Introduction to Policing Course.

Campuses of the university constantly buzz with students of different backgrounds, nationalities and all ages. Here always something is going on-from adventure trips out of Auckland to social events on campus. They have many facilities and services on campuses, from childcare to shops.
