Documents

For stays up to 90 days, Chile does not require a visa for US citizens. Please note that even if a visa is not necessary, you must:

  • have a passport with one blank visa page, valid for a minimum of six months beyond the date you want to leave the country.
  • hold evidence of future and return flights.

  • hold proof of enough money for the duration of your anticipated stay.

  • Pay the permit application fee.
  • Chile Immigration will then review and approve the application.
  • Following approval, you can send the remaining documents and the original passport, as requested by Immigration.

Duration & Fees

Duration
This visa is uncommon, and it is not usually preferred. This visa is valid for 6 months and allows you to remain in the country for 90 days per visit. It may even allow you to enter Chile many times.

Fees
The cost of a Chilean visa starts from 50 USD. You can enter Chile without a visa if you have a legitimate US Green Card, valid for at least 6 months.

Extension

You can apply for an extension before the visa expires. You may have to provide some extra documents and meet some other requirements.
