About

A Chile Student Visa is required to undertake an academic course in Chile. Depending on your nationality, this visa may not be necessary for some situations, such as when the study is for a shorter amount of time.

Eligibility

You are eligible for this visa if you;

  • are not from the EU.
  • have been invited by an educational institute in Chile.
  • can meet the financial expenses.

Documents

You must provide the following documents.

  • Letter of acceptance from the college or other educational institution accredited by the government of Chile.
  • Proof of student loan or a scholarship (otherwise, the student must demonstrate that they have enough money to stay in the country, such as an income certificate or financial support from parents).
  • Health certificate attesting to the petitioner's good health and absence of any contagious or infectious diseases.
  • Police report on criminal history (over 18).
  • Three passport-size photos.

Process

When to Apply
Consider applying 30 to 60 days before your intended departure date. You have 90 days from when your visa is stamped to enter Chile and stay there.

Visa Processing Time
After we verify that you submitted the required paperwork and sent your application to Immigration Chile, the visa application process will take 15 to 20 working days. We cannot be held liable for flight cancellations or delays brought on by missing information, as this would delay the processing of your visa.

How to Apply
You must first enroll in a Chilean academic institution to obtain a Chilean Student Visa. After that, you must first apply online before visiting a Chilean consulate.

You can send the visa office a courier with the documents mentioned above (including your passport). If your passport is missing, enclose a simple (unnotarized) color photocopy instead.
