About

A Business Visa for South Korea is issued for those who have been invited to South Korea for business purposes. This visa allows the foreign holder to attend a business meeting or conference for a short stay. It is valid for three months (single and double entries) or one to five years (multiple entries). Instead, nationals of countries eligible for Electronic Travel Authorization can apply for K-ETA

Those wishing to enter South Korea must do so through a travel agent recommended by the Embassy. 

Eligibility

To be eligible, you'll have to be able to support yourself while in South Korea financially. You'll also need an invitation from the company or organisation that is calling you to South Korea for business purposes. The host business that invites you must also have a business registration license.

Documents

All applicants are requested to submit the following documents.

  • Passport (valid for at least six months).
  • Letter issued by the company to verify employment status and purpose of visit.
  • Certificate of Business registration of Korean Company.
  • Application Form (filled in personally by the applicant).
  • Latest passport-size coloured photograph.
  • Consent to Quarantine
  • Job Certificate/ Recommendation Letter.
  • Bank Statement for the previous six months.

Process

You'll need to apply by filling in the online  South Korean Tourist Visa form. After that, you pay the due fees. Ensure that you've compiled all the required documents and wait for your South Korea Visa Issuance confirmation.

Visa Processing Time
It may take 4 to 7 working days to process. There is no option for urgent or express service.

When to Apply
Make the embassy visa appointment well in advance of your desired travel date to South Korea. It is because processing can take up to several weeks. Apply at the latest 15 days before you intend to go, but no earlier than three months.

The Business Visa allows the individual to stay in South Korea for a period maximum of 90 days.

Fees
The South Korea Business visa fees are:

  • Single entry (up to 90 days) - Fee: 40 USD
  • Single-entry visa (longer than 90 days) - Fee: 60 USD
  • Double-entry visa - Fee: 70 USD
  • Multiple-entry visa - Fee: 90 USD

Extension

Detention and fines may be imposed if you exceed your authorised stay or do not have a valid visa. If you overstay your visa, you must apply for a visa extension. Apply for an extension with the Korea Immigration Service (KIS) before leaving the country. You need to discuss any changes in the visa category with KIS. We recommend you apply at least four months before your visa expires. You can extend your visa only if you have valid reasons.
