Partners of EU Citizens or EU Residents (Cohabitation-Visa) Belgium

About

You can apply for a temporary residency based on cohabitation with a Belgian national or a foreigner who is temporarily (Card A or H) or permanently (Card B/C/D/F or F+) established in Belgium.

Only citizens of nations that need a C-type visa to enter the Schengen region for brief visits are eligible for this visa; US citizens cannot obtain one. With this visa, citizens who need a visa for brief stays can visit Belgium and submit a cohabitation application. For brief stays, US residents do not need a visa. Therefore they are allowed to travel to Belgium and apply for cohabitation there. To obtain the necessary documentation, kindly contact the neighbourhood commune where you plan to live.
