Start-Up Visa

About

Start-up Denmark offers international business owners the chance to be given a residence visa to start and manage an innovative development company.

Before Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI) can execute your request for a residence and work permit based on the scheme, your business plan must be approved by a group of business professionals chosen by the Danish Business Authority.

The program is available to individuals and groups of up to three people who want to launch a joint enterprise in Denmark.

Eligibility

You must fulfill specific requirements to be given a residence visa and operate your own business in Denmark under the Start-up Denmark Scheme.

  • You must be capable of providing for yourself.
  • You must actively participate in managing the company. The panel of experts from the Danish Company Authority must approve your business plan.

Documents

You need to submit the following documents.

  • Documentation of paid fee. Attach receipt for your payment
  • A copy of your passport's contents, including the front and back covers and all blank pages.
  • Approved by the expert committee of the Danish Business Authority.
  • Documentation proving your ability to sustain yourself while visiting Denmark.
  • If necessary, proof of corporate ownership.

Process

Your biometric data must be collected when you apply for a residence permit. It implies that you must have your fingerprints and facial image taken. If you are given a permit, you will receive a residence card with a microchip that will contain your fingerprints and facial image.

When to Apply
Before submitting your application, you must pay a charge to cover SIRI's case processing costs. You must also create a case order ID for your application.

Visa Processing Time
Generally, the Start-up Visa processing time is one month. But it may take more time in some cases.

How to Apply
All of our application forms have detailed instructions on filling them out and what kinds of supporting documentation to attach. Make sure to prepare all your documents in digital form to attach as you complete the application form.
