Work Visa Finland

About

A residence permit is needed in most cases if you intend to work or operate a business in Finland. If you work without a valid residency permit, you risk being fined.

The residence permit application you should use if you're applying for a residence permit based on your employment will depend on the type of work you do or the type of business you own. Apply for a residence permit when looking for a job if you have earned a degree in Finland and have a valid residence permit for your studies.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a work permit, you need to fulfil the following conditions.

  • You must have proper work to do.
  • Your salary must be sufficient enough for your stay in Finland.

Documents

You need the following documents for this permit.

  • Identity documents
  • Documents regarding your qualifications.
  • Proof of employment in Finland.
  • Prove that you can support yourself financially.
  • Medical certificate if necessary.

You must self-submit the application. A residence permit cannot be applied for on your behalf by your employer. Your employer, however, might add to your application.
