The University of Minnesota, Twin Cities is a public land-grant research university founded in 1851 as a small academic organisation. It is situated in the twin land of Minneapolis and Saint Paul, Minnesota.
The university has five campuses; among them, the Twin City campus is the oldest and largest campus, standing in the ninth position in terms of the largest body size in the United States. The campus is under the flagship of the Minnesota system, comprising locations in Minneapolis and Falcon Heights. The University of Minnesota was established as a college preparatory school. In 1861, it received the title of a land-grant university. Initially, the university struggled to maintain itself through donations; later, in 1876, a flour miller name john s. Pillsbury saved the university through his huge part of charity. Later he was honoured as the "Father of Universities."
It offers 154 undergraduate degree programs, 24 undergraduate certificates, 307 graduate degree programs, and 79 graduate certificate programs at the twin city campus. More than 300 research centres and institutes are situated, explaining everything from life science to public policy and technology.
The institute has a great faculty, researchers and alumni that have won 26 nobles prizes and three Pulitzer Prizes. Its notable alumni also included two vice presidents of the united states. A part form academics, this university crown its head in sports and activities. It won 29 national championships and completed 21 intercollegiate sports in the NCAA division, Big Ten Conference. It also won 26 Olympic medals in 2021.

More than 200 fraternities and sororities are working for students; they act as a liaison between students and other activities and are responsible for organising extracurricular activities for the students. Its mission is to provide direct benefit to the student population.
The university provides exposure to its students in Athletics. Sports like football, basketball, hockey, gymnastics, and many other opportunities are available for sports-loving students. The university also sends its capable students to the Olympics.
University campus residence is provided to the students who are eligible for it. The campus hall contains all the facilities, including health and safety, teaching services, and social involvement. The meal plan and other facilities are according to the required charges.
They also give a neighbour option where students can book the residence of their choice. The gym, library, and restaurants are near the neighbouring residence.
